Karan Aujla is bringing his P-Pop Culture World Tour to Melbourne this week, with the Punjabi star playing back-to-back shows at Rod Laver Arena as his Australian and New Zealand arena run gathers pace.
Aujla will perform at Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday, 18 August, followed by a second Melbourne concert on Wednesday, 19 August. The additional show was added after strong demand for tickets to the first Melbourne date.
The tour opened in Adelaide on Sunday, 16 August, and after Melbourne will head to Sydney on Friday, 21 August, Brisbane on Sunday, 23 August and Perth on Monday, 24 August. Aujla will then cross the Tasman for the final show of the run at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Tuesday, 25 August.
The Perth concert at RAC Arena is a new date, replacing the previously scheduled 13 August performance.
The Australian shows come as Aujla continues to build one of the largest international audiences in contemporary Punjabi music.
His latest album, P-Pop Culture, debuted at No. 1 on Spotify in India and Pakistan and No. 4 in Canada. It also topped Apple Music charts across the three countries. The album recorded 12.4 million streams in its first week in Canada, according to figures released with the tour.
The success follows Making Memories, which helped push Aujla further into international markets and was followed by his first Canadian arena tour in 2024.
Born in Punjab and moving to Canada at 17, Aujla initially worked as a songwriter for Punjabi artists before establishing his own recording career. His 2018 release Don’t Worry helped expand his audience, while his debut album BacTHAfuKUP (B.T.F.U.) reached No. 6 on Spotify’s Global Albums chart.
His music combines Punjabi pop with hip-hop and North American influences, helping him build an audience extending well beyond India and Canada. His catalogue has accumulated more than three billion views on YouTube.
The scale of the current Australian tour reflects that growth, with arena dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
For Melbourne fans, the wait is now over. Aujla takes the stage at Rod Laver Arena on 18 and 19 August before the tour moves north to Sydney later this week.
