Peninsula Hot Springs is inviting visitors to embrace winter warmth with Seek the Heat, a new immersive experience combining geothermal bathing, sound, light and wellness activities at its Mornington Peninsula destination.
Running throughout winter, Seek the Heat will transform the Amphitheatre Bathing area with illuminated pools, original soundscapes and sensory elements designed to complement the natural warmth of the geothermal waters.
During the day, guests can enjoy hot springs yoga, sauna rituals and restorative wellness activities. As evening arrives, the bathing area will take on a new atmosphere with coloured lighting and custom compositions created by artist Josh Roydhouse.
Peninsula Hot Springs Chief Marketing Officer Jacqui Diamond said the experience was created to encourage guests to slow down and reconnect during the colder months.
“Winter invites us to slow down, reconnect and seek warmth, and that’s exactly what inspired Seek the Heat,” Diamond said.
“Rather than escaping the season, we’ve created an experience that celebrates it through geothermal bathing, immersive sound, light and wellness.”
Roydhouse has created seven original soundscapes for the experience, with each composition developed to complement the colours, temperatures and atmosphere of the geothermal pools.
The illuminated hot springs and sauna experiences will feature seven different pool colours inspired by the chakra system, with the accompanying soundscapes becoming part of the overall bathing experience.
Visitors can also book additional wellness activities, including Sauna Infusions featuring aromatic steam, essential oils and calming sounds, as well as Cacao Rituals focused on relaxation and mindfulness. These experiences start from $20 in addition to bathing admission.
The venue will also host the Seek the Heat Winter Series, a weekly Bathe-In Cinema event where guests can watch films while soaking in the Amphitheatre Pool. The program includes screenings such as The Sapphires, Red Dog and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, with each session offering a different theme centred around adventure, connection and reflection.
General bathing experiences for Seek the Heat start from $60 per person and include access to the illuminated geothermal pools and soundscape experience.
Located on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Peninsula Hot Springs features more than 70 bathing and wellness experiences supplied by natural geothermal waters sourced underground. The destination offers bathing, spa treatments, wellness activities and nature-based experiences throughout the year.
