ITC Infotech will establish a new digital and AI engineering hub in Melbourne, creating 150 high-skilled technology jobs and setting up its Asia Pacific headquarters in Victoria.
Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson announced the new facility on Tuesday, describing it as a further boost to the state’s technology sector. The hub will serve as ITC Infotech’s flagship centre for digital and AI-led engineering across the region.
Shyam Deshpande, Senior Vice President and APAC and ANZ Head at ITC Infotech, said the investment would deepen the company’s presence in Australia. “Our Melbourne hub strengthens our ability to collaborate deeply with Australian clients, partners, and institutions to build future-ready digital capabilities.”
He said the company would focus on sectors including agriculture, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing and logistics. “With a strong focus on agriculture, CPG, manufacturing, and logistics, we will apply AI, data engineering, and digital platforms to deliver measurable outcomes at scale, while also helping Australian brands accelerate growth into India and Asia.”
As part of the new facility, ITC Infotech will establish an AI agricultural technology hub aimed at converting university-led research into tools for farmers. The government says the initiative is designed to lift farm productivity and support climate resilience, strengthening Victoria’s $20 billion agriculture sector and developing industry-ready talent.
Minister for Agriculture Ros Spence said the agritech hub would connect research with on-farm use. “This new AI agritech hub will help turn cutting-edge research into practical tools for farmers – boosting productivity and backing Victoria’s $20 billion agriculture sector to grow even further.”
Victoria’s digital technology sector contributes more than $36 billion to the state’s economy and employs more than 306,000 people, accounting for 30 per cent of Australia’s technology workforce. The government says digital technologies remain a priority under its Economic Growth Statement, which aims to drive job creation, attract investment and support innovation.
Pearson said Victoria continues to attract technology investment. “We are seeing more and more digital tech companies choosing Victoria to invest in, because of our thriving tech sector and nation-leading digital capability.”
He added that the new facility would support employment and economic activity. “This new facility will create hundreds of high-skilled jobs and deliver economic growth and innovation for Victoria.”
The establishment of the Melbourne hub positions ITC Infotech to expand its regional operations while reinforcing Victoria’s push to grow its digital and AI capabilities.
