Malaysia Airlines marks 2026 with global “Time for New Chapters” travel campaign

Malaysia’s national carrier is welcoming the new year with a global travel campaign that invites passengers to plan ahead and mark fresh beginnings through travel. The “Time for New Chapters” campaign runs from 7 to 20 January 2026, offering promotional fares for travel through to 30 November 2026 across the airline’s international and regional network.

Under the campaign, return fares start from AUD609 all-in, aimed at travellers planning holidays, family visits, milestone journeys or business trips across the year. Members of the airline’s Enrich loyalty programme receive priority access to selected fares from 6 January, along with an additional 5 per cent discount during the promotional period. Travellers who are not yet members are encouraged to sign up during the campaign window to access the same offers.

The campaign spans destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe and beyond, reflecting the carrier’s push to position itself as a convenient gateway between Australia and the region. Passengers can travel to major global cities such as London, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur, alongside regional destinations including Cebu, Siem Reap and Krabi via sister airline Firefly operating from KLIA Terminal 1.

Stopovers in Malaysia remain a central part of the airline’s strategy, with its Bonus Side Trip programme allowing travellers to extend journeys and explore the country at no additional fare. Destinations such as Penang and Langkawi are promoted as natural extensions to long-haul itineraries, reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s role as a hub for travel across Asia as Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026.

Onboard, the airline is continuing to invest in its fleet and passenger experience. Flights operated by the next-generation A330neo aircraft on routes including Tokyo, Bali, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland feature updated cabin interiors, ergonomically designed seating and larger high-definition in-flight entertainment screens. The aircraft form part of the airline’s wider fleet renewal programme.

Connectivity remains a focus, with selected aircraft offering in-flight entertainment through MHstudio and complimentary Wi-Fi across all cabin classes via MHconnect, allowing passengers to stay connected throughout their journey.

The airline has also refreshed its in-flight dining for 2026, introducing updated Best of Malaysia and Best of Asia menus. From 1 January, the Best of Malaysia menu highlights regional dishes inspired by different states, beginning with Selangor specialities such as Daging Semur and Ayam Semur served with Nasi Minyak on selected flights from Sabah and Sarawak to Kuala Lumpur.

The Best of Asia menu will rotate throughout the year, starting with South Korean-inspired dishes from January to February, followed by Thai-inspired selections from March to April. Dishes including Spicy Gogi Jorim, Dak Bokkeum Tang, Pad Phet Chicken and Massaman Curry will be offered on selected regional routes, including services between Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Sarawak and Seoul, across Business Suite, Business Class and Economy Class.

As travel demand continues to stabilise across the region, the campaign reflects a broader effort by Malaysia Airlines to encourage early planning and sustained travel throughout the year, pairing competitive fares with expanded connectivity and a refreshed onboard offering.

Bookings are available through the airline’s website and mobile app, as the carrier looks to start 2026 by inviting travellers to map out journeys that balance discovery, comfort and familiar hospitality.
