Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has been invited to deliver the keynote address at AusBiotech 2025, the Asia-Pacific’s most influential life sciences conference, to be held in Melbourne from 21 to 24 October.
The invitation marks a rare international honour for an Indian state leader, recognising Telangana’s growing stature as a global hub for biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology. Organised by AusBiotech, Australia’s peak life sciences body, in partnership with the Victorian Government, the event brings together industry leaders, scientists, and policymakers from across the world to explore advances in healthcare innovation and research.
Minister Sridhar Babu is the only Indian representative invited to address the global gathering this year. His keynote will showcase Telangana’s growth in the life sciences and MedTech sectors, supported by a policy ecosystem that has attracted more than ₹63,000 crore in new investments over the past two years. The Minister is expected to highlight Hyderabad’s position among the world’s top seven life sciences clusters — the only Indian city to achieve such recognition.
“This is a proud moment for Telangana and India. Hyderabad is now among the world’s top 7 Life Sciences clusters — and the only Indian city to earn this distinction,” Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said.
Australia’s Consul-General Hilary McGeachy extended the invitation on behalf of the organisers, commending the Minister’s leadership and the vision of Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy in driving innovation-led growth. Telangana’s focus on biotechnology, research and development, and healthcare infrastructure has helped it emerge as one of Asia’s most dynamic centres for life sciences investment.
The Minister’s participation is expected to strengthen ties between India and Australia in the fields of medical research, pharmaceuticals, and biotech manufacturing. AusBiotech 2025 is set to attract more than 1,600 delegates from around the world, including government representatives, investors, and leading researchers, providing a significant platform for Telangana to forge new international partnerships and attract further global investment to its thriving life sciences ecosystem.
