Kooyonga Golf Club has been confirmed as the 2027 host of LIV Golf Adelaide, marking another major milestone for South Australia’s growing reputation as a global sports destination.
The Lockleys course, known for its pristine fairways and challenging layout, has long been regarded as one of Australia’s finest championship venues. Its history includes hosting multiple Australian Opens and state tournaments, and it has welcomed golfing icons such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Greg Norman.
The decision to stage LIV Golf Adelaide at Kooyonga follows three years of strong results for the event in South Australia. The tournament has generated more than $217 million in economic benefit since it began, with this year’s edition alone contributing a record $81 million and attracting more than 100,000 spectators over three days.
Attention now turns to the 2026 event at the Grange Golf Club, scheduled for 13 to 15 February. With ticket sales already strong, the upcoming tournament is set to continue the energy and enthusiasm that have made Adelaide one of the tour’s standout destinations.
Premier Peter Malinauskas said Kooyonga’s selection reflects both the event’s success and the state’s ability to deliver world-class sporting experiences. He said LIV Golf Adelaide had brought jobs, visitors and investment into the local economy while boosting global exposure for South Australia’s food, wine and tourism industries.
Malinauskas described the partnership with LIV Golf, which runs through to at least 2031, as an ongoing opportunity to strengthen tourism and hospitality sectors across the state. He also acknowledged the continued redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course, which is set to become one of the world’s leading public golf facilities and the host of LIV Golf from 2028.
With Adelaide firmly established on the international golf calendar, Kooyonga’s turn to host in 2027 adds another chapter to the city’s growing legacy of major events and sporting achievements.
