The battle lines are drawn in War 2, the latest chapter in the YRF Spy Universe, which lands in cinemas this Thursday with screenings at Dendy Newtown in Hindi with English subtitles.
Years ago, Agent Kabir went rogue and became India’s greatest villain. Now he descends further into the shadows, pursued by a man just as formidable. Agent Vikram, a Special Units Officer with his own demons, is determined to put a bullet into Kabir’s skull. The film pits these two forces against each other in a relentless chase that spans continents, blending hand-to-hand combat, high-speed pursuits and the kind of tension that only comes when both hunter and hunted are equally dangerous.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra, War 2 brings together Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, Jr NTR in his Hindi film debut as Vikram, and Kiara Advani in a pivotal role. The cast also features Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor. The production criss-crossed locations from Mumbai to Madrid, Venice to Abu Dhabi, with sequences designed for large formats including IMAX. Music comes from Pritam, with a score by Sanchit and Ankit Balhara.
Following the runaway success of War in 2019, this sequel arrives with strong anticipation. Pre-release events in Hyderabad and Mumbai have drawn thousands, and early reactions from industry previews suggest audiences can expect a blend of large-scale action and tense character drama.
For Sydney audiences, the film will screen at Dendy Newtown, giving local fans of Hindi cinema the chance to see one of the year’s biggest Bollywood releases on the big screen.
