Small businesses across Western Australia will be eligible for new support under the Cook Government’s Small Business Growth Grants program, launched today by Minister for Small Business Jackie Jarvis.

The program offers matched funding of up to $10,000 to help eligible businesses access specialist advice and services in key operational areas including business planning, digital marketing, e-commerce, cybersecurity, financial health, tender writing and export readiness. Totaling $1 million, the scheme is intended to support businesses looking to expand, diversify or build resilience.

Speaking at the launch event at Urban Revolution Australia and Social Manna in Victoria Park, Minister Jarvis said: “Backing small business to grow and diversify! Proud to launch the Cook Labor Government’s Small Business Growth Grants today. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help WA small businesses access expert advice across areas like business planning, digital marketing, cybersecurity, tender responses and export readiness.”

Applicants are encouraged to engage other WA-based service providers when using the voucher, with the aim of multiplying the economic impact within the local ecosystem. Small businesses contribute over $50 billion to Western Australia’s economy annually.

The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), which has provided support to WA’s business community for more than four decades, will administer the program on behalf of the government.

SBDC Commissioner Saj Abdoolakhan said the grants would give small businesses an opportunity to grow with confidence. “Whether an enterprise needs to improve their online presence, get help managing their supply chain, develop systems for a safe workplace or secure other specialist help, the Small Business Growth Grant will help them access the services and advice they need to build capability,” he said.

Applications for the Small Business Growth Grants open at 10am on Monday, 4 August. Further information is available at www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au.
