At just 13 years old, Pratham Joshi is already leaving a lasting impression on his community in Wyndham. His dedication to leadership and service has earned him the One Wyndham award for November 2024, a recognition bestowed upon young individuals who positively contribute to the local area.

Pratham’s commitment to his school, Truganina College, is evident through his various roles. As School Captain, he has been instrumental in guiding prospective students and their families during school tours, offering them insights into the school’s environment and values. His participation in the Werribee RSL Anzac March further showcases his respect for history and community engagement. In acknowledgment of his embodiment of the school’s core values—learning, respect, responsibility, and resilience—Pratham was honoured with the Truganina College Citizenship Award.

Beyond his school activities, Pratham has initiated projects that reflect his passion for sustainability and cultural appreciation. He founded ‘Organic Living Gardening’, a venture through which he has sold over 150 plants, promoting eco-friendly practices among his peers and the broader community. His enthusiasm for cultural diversity is evident in his active participation in various cultural festivals and events, encouraging others to explore and celebrate different traditions.

Pratham’s achievements have not gone unnoticed by local leaders. Mayor of Wyndham City, Cr Mia Shaw, expressed her admiration, stating, “It was wonderful to meet Pratham… A brilliant young role model in our community—congratulations.”

The One Wyndham award celebrates residents aged between 12 to 25 who serve as role models through their positive contributions. Pratham’s dedication to leadership, environmental sustainability, and cultural awareness exemplifies the qualities the award seeks to recognise.

As he continues his journey, Pratham’s aspirations include joining the Australian Defence Force Cadets and pursuing further academic challenges at esteemed institutions like Melbourne High School or Suzanne Cory High School. His multifaceted interests, ranging from martial arts and classical singing to environmental initiatives, paint the picture of a well-rounded individual poised to make meaningful contributions in the future.

Pratham’s story serves as an inspiration, highlighting how dedication and a proactive approach can lead to impactful community involvement, regardless of age.
