The Australian Men’s Deaf Cricket Team is gearing up for a high-stakes tour of India, with a T20I Tri-Series and an ODI showdown against the hosts. Cricket Australia has named a 15-man squad, led by Andrew Park, for the competition that will see Australia face off against India and South Africa.

The tour kicks off with the T20I Tri-Series from 2-8 March, followed by a three-match ODI series against India from March 10-12, both set to be played at Delhi’s Karnail Singh Stadium. Four new faces—Abhi Jain, Jacob Floyd, Keziah Van Rijn and Angus Pike—have earned their national call-ups after standout performances at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships in January.

Head Coach Job van Bunge will oversee the campaign as the squad departs Melbourne for Delhi on February 27. Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager, Events and Operations, Joel Morrison, highlighted the significance of the tour, calling it a major moment for deaf cricketers. He also acknowledged the role of CommBank in backing inclusion efforts in Australian cricket.

CommBank continues its long-standing support for accessible pathways in the sport, ensuring players with disabilities can progress from grassroots to elite levels. Their partnership with Cricket Australia’s ‘A Sport for All’ program reinforces the commitment to making cricket a space for every player to thrive.

With a mix of experience and fresh talent, the Australian side will be looking to make a strong impression in India, showcasing the depth of skill and determination in deaf cricket.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
