Hawkesbury is set to become the backdrop for an ambitious fashion showcase, with the Asian Fashion Festival, Heritage Runway 2025, making its debut on 17 May at Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury before moving to the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens on 18 May. Timed to align with Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, the festival promises a dynamic fusion of creativity, sustainability, and multicultural influence.
Designed to highlight diversity in fashion, the event is backed by the Sydney Academy of Makeup and Hawkesbury City Council. Attendees can expect runway shows, designer showcases, and workshops delving into global trends and ethical practices. Set against the breathtaking scenery of the Blue Mountains, the festival provides a platform for emerging and established designers to display their collections to an engaged audience.
Regal Star Productions CEO Lovely Bandal is eager to see the event take shape. “Designers will not only present their collections on the runway but will have the chance to engage with industry experts through interactive sessions focused on sustainability and innovation,” she said.
The workshops aim to offer practical insights into the evolving fashion industry, equipping participants with knowledge on ethical production, circular fashion, and responsible sourcing. The festival is also an opportunity for designers to network with professionals, media, influencers, and buyers who are keen to explore fresh talent and forward-thinking fashion concepts.
As part of the event, the Asian Fashion Festival is collaborating with the Asia Model Festival’s Face of Australia competition, opening doors for aspiring models to gain industry recognition. Ms Bandal highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “We are excited to partner with the Asia Model Festival in our quest for fresh talent.”
The competition will select one male and one female model who will receive a chance to participate in all festival activities, walking the runway while promoting brands, sponsors, and the festival itself. For those looking to step into the fashion world, this presents a rare opportunity to be seen by industry leaders in a setting that values both cultural heritage and modern fashion expression.
With its emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, the Asian Fashion Festival is gearing up to leave a lasting impression, setting the stage for a fresh perspective on style that extends beyond the runway.
