Perth is set to buzz with energy as the NRMA Insurance Border-Gavaskar series opener between Australia and India kicks off with the inaugural West Test Summer Fest at Perth Stadium on 22 November. Aiming to blend cricket and culture, this event promises a celebration fit for fans and festivalgoers alike.
Spanning the first three days of the Test (22-24 November), the Indian-inspired festival is free and open to all, transforming the Stadium Park precinct with live music, striking art installations, energetic dance performances, and a fleet of food trucks. For those keen on the cricket action, a big screen will ensure fans don’t miss a moment of the on-field battles between two cricket giants.
Coinciding with WA’s rescheduled WA Day celebrations, the weekend is packed with family-friendly festivities. The Perth Scorchers WBBL|10 Celebration Match will take place at the WACA Ground on Saturday evening, 22 November, with fans able to redeem up to six free tickets. The Scorchers will square off against the Hobart Hurricanes at 5:30 pm, adding an extra layer of excitement to the weekend’s offerings.
WA Day festivities at Burswood Park on Sunday, 24 November, will feature Western Australia’s largest drone light show, fireworks, live music, carnival rides, and more—a short walk from Perth Stadium, making it easy for fans to explore multiple events.
Supported by the WA Government’s events strategy, the West Test Summer Fest is designed to inject vibrancy into the local scene, draw interstate visitors, and boost Perth’s community spirit.
Tickets to the Border-Gavaskar Test start at $30 for adults and $10 for kids, available at cricket.com.au/tickets. Joel Morrison, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager of Events & Operations, said, “The NRMA Insurance series opener at Perth Stadium is set to be the venue’s biggest Test match. We’re thrilled to launch the West Test Summer Fest with the WA Government, aiming to elevate the fan experience and strengthen community engagement.”
Perth Scorchers Interim General Manager, Jess Keily, added, “This weekend of cricket and culture is becoming a must-attend event on Perth’s calendar. We’re excited to see the Orange Army and newcomers fill Perth Stadium and the WACA Ground. It’s shaping up to be a quintessential Perth day: cricket, a festival atmosphere, and a lively night at The Furnace.”
With a thrilling mix of cricket and culture on the cards, the West Test Summer Fest promises a perfect blend of sport and celebration, making this a weekend to remember for all.
