The Multicultural Fiesta and Diwali Festival of Lights is set to bring a vibrant fusion of cultures to Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine, on 12th October 2024. Organised by the Multicultural Association of Caboolture and Surroundings Inc., this event marks the 25th anniversary of the Fiesta, a fixture in the community since 1999, and promises to be a lively celebration of diversity.
Combining the longstanding Fiesta with the Diwali Festival of Lights, which has been celebrated in the area since 2019, the event will run from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Attendees can expect an array of cultural performances, workshops, and food stalls, showcasing the traditions and flavours of the many cultures that enrich the region. The event, now a highly anticipated feature on the local calendar, highlights the strong sense of community that has been built over the years.
The organisers are inviting locals and community leaders to join in the celebration and share their experiences and insights. Whether through performing or simply attending, the community’s involvement is seen as key to the ongoing success of the Fiesta. With this year’s milestone, the organisers hope to further strengthen the bonds that unite the area’s diverse populations.

As the park prepares to light up with performances and festivities, the event serves as a reminder of the importance of community engagement and cultural integration. The combination of Diwali, a festival known for its message of light overcoming darkness, with the annual Fiesta, only deepens the significance of the event in promoting unity and harmony among the local population.
From delicious food to captivating performances, the event is expected to draw people from all walks of life, reflecting the spirit of inclusion that has made the Multicultural Fiesta and Diwali Festival a cornerstone of local life.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.
We operate independently.
