The Modeina Community Fund is once again offering a valuable opportunity for local community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Caroline Springs, Burnside, and Burnside Heights to secure funding for their projects. Applications for the 2024 round are now open, with grants of $1,500 available to successful applicants, supported by a total funding pool of $30,000.
Since its inception in 2017, the Fund has been a vital source of support for various initiatives across the region. Peter Ryan, Executive General Manager of Developments at Dennis Family Corporation, highlighted the broader impact of the Fund, emphasising that it’s not just about financial aid but fostering a connected and thriving community.
Ryan stated, “The Modeina Community Fund has been integral to our local area, helping bring about meaningful change. Whether you’re launching a new project or sustaining an existing one, this grant is a great way to make a difference.”
The impact of the Fund over the years has been significant, with over $100,000 granted to local groups. These grants have supported a wide range of projects, from health and wellness programs to environmental efforts and educational initiatives. The result has been an enhanced quality of life for residents and a stronger sense of community pride.
In 2023 alone, the Fund distributed $25,500 to various groups, directly contributing to the grassroots movements that keep the community vibrant and growing.
For those interested, the application window closes on Sunday, 1st September. Each submission will be carefully evaluated by an independent judging panel to ensure the grants make the maximum possible impact.
Local organisations are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to their community’s progress. Applications can be submitted online, with all the necessary details available at the Modeina Community Fund website.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this ongoing mission to build a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone in Caroline Springs, Burnside, and Burnside Heights.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
