Cricket fans in Melbourne are in for a treat as Prime Video ambassador and cricket star Usman Khawaja will be serving coffees to local enthusiasts on Monday, 24 June, at Rustica South Yarra. This unique event promises a blend of sport and coffee culture, offering a special experience for fans ahead of the highly anticipated Australia v India clash.

The Prime Video Cricket Café is set to open at 10:30am, with Khawaja available for media interactions, interviews, and photo opportunities. This event is part of Prime Video’s promotion for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is available to Prime members in Australia at no additional cost.

Prime Video is inviting all Melbournians to join the Cricket Café, a one-day-only takeover at Rustica South Yarra, located at 501 Chapel St. This collaboration aims to create the ultimate cricket and coffee hub as the T20 World Cup reaches its crucial Super Eight phase.

Usman Khawaja, known affectionately as Uzzy, will swap his cricket bat for a barista apron, serving Melbourne’s freshest brew and special edition pastries, including a ‘U’ shaped cruller in his honour. The café will be open from 6:00am, offering free coffee to early birds while supplies last. Fans can enjoy the matches on big screens inside the café, streamed exclusively on Prime Video.

Australia, one of the tournament favourites, is vying to make history by becoming the first team to hold all three Men’s ICC trophies simultaneously, following their victories in the ICC World Test Championship Final and Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023. This event provides a perfect opportunity for fans to engage with one of their cricket heroes while enjoying top-notch coffee and pastries.

Prime Video’s exclusive coverage ensures that fans won’t miss any of the T20 World Cup action, with live streaming of all the big hits, wickets, and memorable moments. The Prime Video Cricket Café promises a day filled with excitement, delicious treats, and cricket fever, making it a must-visit for any cricket enthusiast.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
