When the Australian government altered the way piece rate workers are paid, Tie Up Farming updated their software immediately to assist growers in meeting their legal duties and ensuring workers are paid correctly. “For producers who can no longer pay the piece rate, this would be a major difficulty. They want to preserve the piece rate incentive to attract the best workers while also ensuring that they are paid at least the minimum hourly wage. Every day, it must be calculated, and at TieUp Farming, we have the data to assist farmers in doing so “According to the company’s Roei Yaakobi.
“We already have piece rate data from harvest management and time worked from payroll, so all we have to do now is calculate it and provide a full report to meet the other requirements of the new Award.” At Hort Connections in Brisbane next month, TieUp Farming will demonstrate their software management system, which includes the new Inventory Management Module. “The new module has been tested by a few growers, and it is now ready for release. We’ve also included a Labor Management module, which includes information on the workers’ visas and vaccinations.” TieUp Farming brings together all the on-farm information critical for export contracts and compliance, as well as discovering where cost savings can be found within an agribusiness.
