Wyndham City is excited to announce Anastasia Kusmawan as the One Wyndham December recipient.
One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 and 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘young person of the month’.
Winners are awarded a $200 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
December recipient, Anastasia Kusmawan demonstrates a commitment to sport and is a dedicated school leader.
Balancing school, work and a personal life, Anastasia spends 35 hours synchronised swimming training each week.
Competing competitively, Anastasia represented Australia at the Youth FINA World Championships last year.
As well as this, Anastasia is committed to her music and spends four hours practicing each week.
Anastasia has remained committed to her sport over lockdown, continuing to train each day online to retain fitness.
A leader in her school community, Anastasia commits her time to both sporting and academic pursuits and has achieved academic excellence.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said the One Wyndham award enables young people to be inspired by the work of their peers.

“We celebrate the ways young people are engaging in Wyndham life be it through volunteering, advocacy or innovation.”
“We value their contribution in making Wyndham a thriving and supportive place.”
“Wyndham City Youth Services offer many ways to connect the City’s young people, whether it by via Check in and Chat, arts club, code club and or even our Youth Summer Program.”

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
