Be inspired, thrilled and entertained at the Wyndham Cultural Centre, with a range of creative shows making up the 2020 season.

Stand up comedy, live music, ballet and classic theatre productions are just some of the sorts of shows that patrons can expect at the Watton Street venue.

Wyndham City’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Portfolio Holder, Cr Tony Hooper, said this season features some of Australia’s finest artists.

“We’re kicking things off with one of the biggest names in Aussie comedy, Judith Lucy on Saturday 15th February,” Cr Hooper said.

In her latest routine, Judith Lucy vs Men, Judith reflects on her history with men at the age of 51, and leaves it up to the audience as to whether she should ever date again. “It’s bound to be a hilarious show—I know I’m looking forward to this one,” Cr Hooper said.

On 26 March, Rebel will come to town—a live circus rock tribute to the original rebel, David Bowie. Guaranteed to be an entertaining night with brilliant live music, phenomenal acrobatics and breathtaking aerials, Rebel brings together an incredible body of work that has spanned 50 years.

“Prepare for a one-of-a-kind show in May, with Grace Under Pressure—a deeply moving, intimate and surprising theatre experience. This show reveals the hidden stories of health professionals based on hours and hours of in-depth interviews with doctors and nurses about their experiences of training and working in hospitals,” Cr Hooper said.

In June, lovers of ballet rejoice—as some of the biggest ballet stars from across the world take to the stage at the Wyndham Cultural Centre, performing a collection of works from Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and more.

“This is all just the tip of the iceberg, with a jam-packed line-up of events planned for this year,” Cr Hooper said.

We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution.
