If you’re a small business owner in Wyndham wanting to grow and take your business to the next level, then apply now to participate in the free Innovate to Excelerate business growth program.
Wyndham City is calling on new and emerging businesses in Wyndham who have the potential to expand or enter into new markets, have a competitive brand position or are seeking to drive product or service innovation to apply.
Portfolio holder for Future Focused Economy, Cr Walter Villagonzalo said businesses who have been operating in Wyndham for a minimum of 12 months and up to four years, and who want to take their business to the next level are encouraged to apply.
“Applications for this program are open until the 2nd February, 2020 which aims to help Wyndham owners grow their business and benefit from specialist resources including one to one business coaching,” Cr Villagonzalo said.
The fully funded program includes six group knowledge sessions and up to 20 hours of individual business coaching with highly experienced business coaches. The one-on-one coaching sessions provide the opportunity for businesses to develop growth strategies and plan their implementation. Lead coach and facilitator, Adrian Jobson of Acculture is a specialist coach and consultant in small business growth.
“There are only ten places available and I would strongly encourage local businesses who meet the criteria for the Innovate to Excelerate program to apply,” Cr Villagonzalo said, adding that fostering a robust local economy is a key objective for Wyndham City’s 2040 Vision.
“Innovate to Excelerate is a highly regarded and well entrenched program on the Wyndham Business training calendar which has greatly benefited many previous participants, including David McCarthy Plumbing,” Cr Villagonzalo said.
Cat McCarthy from David McCarthy Plumbing said, “We now have a completed strategic growth plan, this isn’t just a tick and flick and sit on the shelf document, it is the most important item in our office, with thorough objectives and measures set to successfully guide us. Thank you wholeheartedly for giving us the opportunity to complete this program.”
Dates: The program runs from Monday, 5 March to Friday, 26 June
Program Structure:
- 5 x 2.5-hour group knowledge workshops held at the Wyndham Civic Centre
- 1 x full day workshop

Support Independent Community Journalism
Dear Reader,The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.
We operate independently.
Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.
When you support The Indian Sun, you support:
• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers
We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.
If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
Please consider making a contribution today.
Thank you for your support.
