Former Bollywood Star Chandni’s passion helps Indians in Orlando stay connected with their ‘roots’

Orlando (Florida USA): C Studios has helped to promote a connection to culture and heritage through dance in a fun environment since it opened in 1998, serving over 200 students each year.

Meet the beautiful, elegant mumprenuer and C Studios’ Director—Mrs Chandni Navodita, who has headed the institution since its inception. Her background in Bollywood as the leading actress with stars such as Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Anil Kapoor, have given her insight into the entertainment aspect of dance and performance.

Chandni’s performers have performed at many diverse venues including Disney, Hard Rock Live at Universal Studios, Conventions, Weddings, and NBA games.

Chandni is also the creator of Bollywood Magic, a partnership with Orlando Magic (NBA) that has held events at the Amway Center to help mainstream our culture through music, dance and fashion.

The C studio also believes in giving back to the community and has donated to Florida Hospital for Children and Miami Children’s Hospital along with other community based non-profit organisations.

Dance styles taught at the studio are a reflection of Chandni’s vision and background. She combines several dance methods to make lessons fun. Each class is an experience in Classical, Traditional, and Bollywood styles with a Latin or hip hop twist to make the genre more relevant to the younger generation

Former Ministerial Adviser Mr Nitin Gupta who has recently moved to USA, and travels a lot to Florida for business purposes, has words of praise for Chandni. Nitin comments “I strongly feel that Chandni Jee is doing a wonderful job of keeping Florida’s Indian community, especially the kids that are growing up in USA, connected with their culture and roots through dance. What amazes me even more is that Chandni Jee accepts no money for her studio’s performances. Instead, through the community performances, students can receive community service hour credits for their schools.”

“Chandni Jee has also taken Indian Dances to new avenues and audiences in USA such as the NBA. She is truly an amazing person.” Further added Nitin.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
