World-leading mobile transportation platform DiDi is expanding its presence in South-East Queensland with the official launch of its rideshare service, DiDi Express, on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast today.

DiDi successfully operates in Melbourne, Geelong and Newcastle, and recently launched its value-for-money, reliable and safe rideshare service in Brisbane in July.

After clocking up more than one million trips in Brisbane in a few short months, DiDi quickly moved to the second most used rideshare service in the market.

DiDi will continue its commitment to maximising its driver-partners’ income with flexible work opportunities on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, while making the service available to a total population of over three million who can now travel across the three regions with DiDi.

Drivers will benefit from DiDi’s industry-leading 5.5 percent service fee. In addition, drivers who signed up with DiDi before September 23 received a zero percent service fee for four weeks. Drivers who sign up on or after September 23 will be eligible to DiDi’s standard 5.5 percent service fee.

The rideshare app will also provide competitive incentives for Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast riders. Those who signed up on the DiDi-Rider App before September 23 will receive 50 percent off their first five trips (valid for 21 days, capped at $10 per trip), while those who download and sign up on or after September 23 will receive 50 percent off their first three trips (valid for 14 days, capped at $10 per trip).

DiDiDAYS was a popular initiative in the launch of the DiDi-Rider App in Brisbane, providing a free ride up to $20 on Saturdays post-launch, and will also be available to Gold Coast rideshare users.

Across the first three Saturdays after the September 23 launch, DiDi will offer its Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast users one free ride to the value of $15.

  • DiDiDAY 1: Saturday September 28
  • DiDiDAY 2: Saturday October 5
  • DiDiDAY 3: Saturday October 12

The rideshare service on the Gold Coast will be available as far north as Stapylton and south to Coolangatta while Sunshine Coast will be available from Caloundra and Beerwah to the south through to Noosa to the north.

DiDi opened a DiDi Driver Hub in Southport on September 3 and in Maroochydore on September 9 to onboard and prepare driver-partners, which both will remain open until October 1, 2019. Interested drivers are encouraged to register today by downloading the DiDi Driver App or visiting a DiDi Driver Hub for more information.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
