IEC Awards 2018 Finalist — Executive [Male]

For Jey Srikantha, it all began in the middle of a global crisis, the GFC of 2009, and during the Black Saturday bushfires in Melbourne. Jey, a technology consultant, began his mission to make business automation simple, cost-effective and most importantly caring.

Jeylabs was born in the suburb of Epping in Victoria, and by 2014, grew into an award-winning application software consultancy and a global ISV developing the popular PowerToolz test automation software suite with two offices in Sri Lanka.

The Jeylabs workforce includes migrants, women, people of colour and disability, bagging the company the Northern Business Excellence achievement award for Diversity in 2014, from the City of Whittlesea.

That same year Jey became a paraplegic when a back surgery went wrong. This however has not deterred Jey from his path. This year, Jeylabs signed a major multi-year deal and setup entities in Singapore and California. The company also launched their Chatbots solution, which is gaining momentum.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
