The Australian Indian community has welcomed the Liberal party’s proposal to nominate HH Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar as Victorian Business Ambassador (VBA).

Prince Lakshyaraj has engaged extensively with the Victorian Indian community whenever he visits here. It is a welcome initiative, and hopefully there would be bi-partisan support for the move.

Hopefully this nomination will attract other Indian billionaires like Naveen Jindal, Tulsi Tanti, and Joy Alukas to act as Victoria’s business ambassadors. Those who have existing investments in Australia are in a position to attract others to invest.

The Victorian Liberal party has taken an important and strategic decision by nominating Prince Lakshyaraj as VBA. Prince Lakshyaraj is a successful entrepreneur, and understands the importance of strong bilateral trade partnership among countries in this globalised world.

He has extensively engaged with the business and general community and will certainly prove to be an asset and would act as a catalyst in strengthening India-Victoria business and community ties.

Prince Lakshyaraj is a successful entrepreneur, and a good human being. His vast experience, skills, and relationships with various business stakeholders across the globe will help in increasing Victoria-India trade and investment relations. On behalf of Rajput Association of Melbourne, Australia (RAMA), we offer our support towards this initiative.

A visionary entrepreneur like Prince Lakshyaraj not only has a great futuristic vision to offer for international business but also brings with him a culture of business practices built around ethical values for a greater impact on the people and the communities involved.

We hope to see what Prince Lakshyaraj has to offer by both Victorian and Indian business communities. While the Liberal party is taking steps for the betterment of business communities, we are hopeful that we will also see some promising steps and positive changes towards the overall progress and betterment of the Indian diaspora in Australia.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
