Explore the Great Ocean Road this summer

The Great Southern Touring Route is regarded as one of the World’s best road trips and can be undertaken in three or four days or longer and offers you an opportunity to experience, the seaside, mountains, history and heritage all in a short drive from Melbourne city.

So as the summer begins, have a think about doing this drive with friends and family…and of course the kids. The journey starts in Melbourne and takes in the waterfront city of Geelong, the food and wine region of Bellarine Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road—including the dramatic rock formation of the Twelve Apostles. It passes through the seaside city of Warrnambool and the pretty hamlet of Port Fairy.

You can view and experience the majestic nature of Grampians National Park, where you can visit cascading waterfalls and witness incredible views across the Australian landscape, you can also see Kangaroos in the wild and learn about the Aboriginal heritage of the area at Brambuk the Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

Indian restaurants are strategically placed in Geelong, Warrnambool, Halls Gap and Ballarat, so make sure you sample some of the freshest produce on the planet visit local restaurants, wineries or farm gates who offer their locally grown produce.

The road trip takes you back to Melbourne via the famous Sovereign Hill and the gold rush history and grandeur of Ballarat and the health healing waters of Daylesford and spa country. Australia’s greatest road trip is full of family fun but can also be a very romantic journey! An adventure full of experiences and friendly locals that will delight and inspire every traveller.
