People thinking of starting a business in Wyndham are being reminded that help is available

Wyndham City offers free business training to people considering opening a business or who are in the early stages of operating one.

Wyndham City’s Future Focused Economy portfolio holder Cr Walter Villagonzalo said there are many things potential business owners can gain from the support being offered by Council.

“Opening a new business can be a daunting experience. A lot of time, energy and investment is required to make your vision successful, which is why the support available through Council is so important,” Cr Villagonzalo said.

Council offers free business training, along with a range of training opportunities throughout the year with the 2018 training sessions covering everything from how to get started to legal essentials.

“The sessions are part of Council’s annual business training calendar and in most cases, are offered on a voluntary basis by other local businesses,” Cr Villagonzalo said.

“If you need some help getting your business off to a great start, I encourage you to look no further than your local Council.”

Local firm Crowe Horwath will present this year’s first training session, Starting or Buying a Business—What You Need to Know, on Friday, 2 February.

All sessions are free and bookings are essential. For more information visit www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/businesstraining

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun

  1. It’s great that more entities are trying to help people to realise their dream of becoming entrepreneurs. The support really makes a difference! The process is lengthy and it might seem discouraging at first, but after you see it written black on white or hear a step-by-step explanation you understand that starting a business is possible.
In this day and age, you can find anything online if you know where to search for. This is a guide for starting a business in Australia as a foreigner, but I really think it’ll be helpful for anyone who wants to see what the process is:

Spoiler: It’s not that hard. 🙂
