Wyndham City Council plans to throw a The Deep West Block Party at the car park in Wyndham Cultural Centre on 4 November

The party will offer a great place for all people to connect with the community, enjoy live music and express themselves. Wyndham City’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Portfolio Holder, Cr Tony Hooper, said the event was the first of its kind, and shaping up to be a premier event on Wyndham’s event calendar.

“Council staff have been busy planning this exciting event, working closely with local artists and performers to produce an event that welcomes everyone to come together and celebrate what’s great about our City: the people,” Cr Hooper said.

The headline act will be international sensation Z Star Delta, fresh from Glastonbury Festival in England and on their national Australian tour. Other acts include the fabulous and fun of Snuff Puppets dancing with local performer Florence Shinaduku, a collective of young artists from the western suburbs the Still Nomads, Bollywood styling from Jalwa Dance, DJ and MC Mz Rizk, and the star of the upcoming SBS show Sunshine Ror da Poet.

“There will be plenty of other performances and art to keep the whole family entertained,” Cr Hooper said.

Deep West Block Party will take place on 4 November from 4pm until 9pm. It is a family friendly, alcohol-free event. More information click here.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
