South Australian professionals and business women gathered in Adelaide in August for the 2017 Business Seminar, a networking event organised by the Australian Pacific Business Council for Women Inc (APBCW).

APBCW was established in 1994 at a time where there were limited opportunities for Asian women migrants and Australian women to network and share knowledge. Over the years, APBCW has fostered business opportunities and cultural exchange for business and professional women in South Australia and Asia Pacific.

APBCW hosted a successful business seminar at Minter Ellison in August with a dynamic panel of business women, who have built their businesses into award-winning companies.  The all-woman panel included Lisa Cooper from Ferguson Australia; UlliSpranz from B.-d. Farm Paris Creek, and Peggy-Lau Flux from Flux Family Investment.

The robust and insightful panel discussion was facilitated by former president and APBCW’s patron The Honourable Jing Lee, MLC, Member of the Legislative Council in the South Australian Parliament.

With her intimate knowledge about each panel speaker and her long term involvement with APBCW for 20 years, Hon. Jing Lee asked many in-depth questions to the panel, allowing each woman to highlight their achievements and share their personal stories. The audience were captured and inspired by their stories and experiences. The business seminar generated lots of positive feedback and many women felt energised by what they have learnt from the event.

Through the APBCW Women of Distinction Awards, seminars and other initiatives, APBCW will continue to be a strong advocate for promoting womenʼs achievements.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
