Recently Falls Creek hosted an alpine cricket game at the top of the mountain at Cloud 9 with special guests Adam Gilchrist and Pete the Snow Dragon

Gilly and his family love Falls Creek and this holiday he got to combine two of his passions. After a day of skiing in glorious sunshine, Gilly turned up with his kids in tow to Cloud 9 for an alpine cricket match with Pete the Dragon.

They were joined by about 100 guests (kids and adults alike) who came to have a bat, have a bowl, take a dive in the snow with Gilly and Pete. Check out the video on Falls Australia Instragram for all the action!

The weather has been amazing for Gilly’s visit, with extensive terrain open across the mountain, including two terrain parks, with dustings of snow (both fresh and man made) every day.

Gilly and his family booked in for lessons with Falls Creek Snowsports school, with everyone looking to take their skiing and boarding to the next level. With over 170 highly qualified instructors from Australia and around the world, they make learning fun, and help everyone progress.

Gilly hosted après ski drinks at the newly refurbished luxury chalet Astra, where there was plenty of cricket banter to be had. Tom the manager of Astra is a proud Brit, so there were some tricky questions particularly around the Ashes, and some great stories told of epic matches and some of the most loved cricket identities.

Whether you’re visiting Falls Creek this week or next, there’s always plenty to do for all of the family.

With recent snow falls, the season is getting better and better!

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
