The South Australia Nepali Dancing Star (Adelaide Nepal) Team organised their first Nepalese dance competition this year
The event, on 28 May, gave the adults and children of the community the chance to display some awesome dance moves.
Dancers, some dressed in amazing colourful traditional costumes, battled it out in front of adjudicators for top honours. The hotly contested event, as informed by Mr Gokul Dhakal, saw more than 20 competitors from across Adelaide flexing their dance moves in an effort to win their share in various sponsored prizes donated by several prominent businesses around the state.
The efforts the organisers and participants went through to prepare for the event and the final performances’ was really apparent in the high standard of the routines delivered and the audience can’t wait to see what’s in store this year.
As part of the judging panel, the South Australia Nepali Dancing Star organisers partnered with four eminent judges to boost the morale of the first timers and the dance lovers.
To make the event entertaining and informative at the same time, the South Australia Nepali Dancing Star organisers invited Relationship Australia SA to deliver a short information session on ‘Gambling and its impacts’.
South Australia Nepali Dancing Star completion was held at The Marion RSL Club at Marion SA, with Reetu Rana bagging the Dancing star senior category prize and Nomika Khanal winning the Dancing Star junior title.
Adelaide Nepal, as the organiser of the South Australia Nepali Dancing Star has been successful setting up a benchmark for the local Nepalese talent.
This competition was not only a successful event but also an outstanding platform for local artists to showcase their talent.
