A chat with comedian Frank Hampster on the Catholic Church and Sexual Abuse in Australia on The Indian Sun Facebook. Interview to go online at 10.30am

He’s angry, he’s funny, he nails the catholic church for its “cardinal sins” through his comedy set on the topic. Frank Hampster was unfortunate to have gone to Catholic School in Ballarat. 11 of his teachers and priests have done jail time due to their ‘teaching style’. Through his set at Melbourne Comedy Show, he aims at exposing the sins of the church.

Frank Hampster’s ‘Cardinal Sins’ debuted at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016 only a few weeks after Frank finished testifying at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse and a day after the Commission lawyers ‘advised’ Frank that the show could not go on as it was. He rewrote it and the show did go on, to much acclaim.

Gautam Gupta interviews Frank Hampster on issues revolving around child sex abuse scandal that rocked Catholic Church in Australia. They chat about a range off issues from the insurance policy that clergy men avail against charges of child sex abuse, nuns and sex abuse and much more.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
