Vice-president of Lions Clubs International Naresh Aggarwal was welcomed to Sydney with a dinner held in the Emperors Garden Restaurant, hosted by the Lions Club of Sydney Lions.

Aggarwal was elected to the position of Second International Vice-president at the Lions’ 98th International Convention held in Hawaii last June.

A member of the Batala Smile Lions Club since 1974, he has received many Lions awards up to the Ambassador of Good Will Award which is the highest honour the Lions organisation can bestow upon its members.

In addition to his Lions activities, Aggarwal has been active in numerous professional and community organisations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the FICCI-SAARC Forum.

Aggarwal is visiting Australia with wife, Navita, who is also a Lion.  They have two sons and one daughter and five grandchildren.

As part of the dinner a new Lions Club, Blacktown Ponds, inducted a new member increasing the Club’s membership to 28.

Aggarwal also presented Guiding Lions badges and gifts to two experienced Lions from the neighbouring Kings Langley Lions Club, John Fernandes and Derek Margerison.  As Guiding Lions, John and Derek will assist the new Club for the first two years.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
