From top of the range venue decorations to candy buffets, to entertainment and food and music, Sree Datti is one of the first names that moms in Melbourne think of when a child’s birthday is coming up. In fact, within two years of starting this elite party business, Sree won the New & Emerging Business of the Year award from Wyndham Council in 2014. Enchanting Parties now has two operating locations and services all of Melbourne and Geelong. To what has been already achieved in such short time Sree has even bigger plans of taking Enchanting Parties to even bigger heights.
Mum’s the word…always. When she organizes parties Sree makes sure she gives priority to businesses run by stay at home mums. She directly or indirectly provides work to at least 100 other businesses including face painters, balloon twisters, cake decorators, caterers, DJs, photographers, party goods suppliers etc.
Sree came to Australia in 2005 and found employment in business development with large corporates like AAPT, Sensis and Glotel. In 2008, she took a break from corporate life and embraced motherhood, which was when she realized how much she loved being around children. In 2012, she started a Sree’s Kitchen, a catering business from home, which later evolved into Enchanting Parties, which provides end to end party solutions.
Support Independent Community Journalism
Dear Reader,The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.
We operate independently.
Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.
When you support The Indian Sun, you support:
• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers
We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.
If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
Please consider making a contribution today.
Thank you for your support.
