Sukhmeet is a well-known public figure in the Indian community and CEO and Director of Angad Australian Institute of Technology, one of the most reputable educational institutions in Australia.
Sukhmeet’s father is a retired Colonel from the Indian Army and his mother is known in the Indian community for her involvement in welfare activities, which he says could explain the level of personal discipline he applies to his work.
Sukhmeet, who came to Melbourne in 2000 to do his MBA from Victoria University, founded Angad in 2007 as he wanted to transform people’s lives by providing top quality education. Sukhmeet named his Institute Angad (meaning ‘of my body’) after his son.
His institute commenced training with just one course and today, offers 10 qualifications to students from over 28 nationalities. More than 2000 students have gained valuable career skills through Angad. He believes his success is due to his passion for providing everything students need to excel in their chosen field. He genuinely places success of students and his staff right on top of his priority list.
Throughout the growth of Angad, Sukhmeet has been supported at every step of the way by his wife Aarti. Their family has grown from the birth of Angad in 2006, to the birth of his daughter Ajuni in 2011, both of whom he says are his real treasures.
Pay it forward. Sukhmeet is never happier than in his works of philanthropy. He supports many charities both in India and Australia, and believes that the purpose of his life is to make a massive difference in the lives of others.
