The moment Gagan entered the world of hospitality, it ignited a passion in him. He blended in with the fast-paced high-stress world of food almost effortlessly – Gagan sometimes says it was because he came from the world of IT, so jumping from one fast-paced arena into another was easy – when he joined his parents to run Shalimar Indian restaurant. The restaurant was established by his parents in 1981 when migrated from Singapore.

Mentored by his parents on the secrets of maintaining quality and operations, Gagan runs the fine dining restaurant with finesse. The restaurant won the Spice out awards 2015 and has been featured in many publications from the local Leader to the Epicure section of the AGE.

A breath of fresh air. Gagan, who loves cooking and fitness training, is an avid outdoorsman, immersing himself in the worlds of trekking, fishing and diving, when he isn’t at Shalimar. “Over the weekends I love to be outdoors as much as possible, go for a walk along the beach with my wife or have a BBQ with the family,” says Gagan, who also plays basketball.
