The TLC established its Outreach Legal Service at Blacktown from 1 December 2011. This service was formally launched on 27 April 2012 by the former Chief Justice of High Court of Australia Sir Gerard Brennan AC KBE. Since 6 March 2014 this service has extended its capabilities and now operates as Blacktown Legal Centre (BLC) under the auspices of Toongabbie Legal Centre Incorporated.
BLC is located in modern facilities with individual interview rooms and can be easily accessible. It is a highly community focused service.
The volunteers at BLC are not only professional and knowledgeable, but each one is committed to ensuring TLC’s primary objective—ensuring social justice can be accessed by those who are vulnerable in the local community and cannot easily access legal service.
The BLC operates on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm till 9.00pm and Saturdays from 9.30am till 1.00pm.
The facility is a drop-in service, so no appointments are necessary, but potential clients should bring all documents with them when they attend the service.
