As Diwali, the festival of lights, nears, event management companies in Melbourne are in overdrive to helm the biggest bash of the season.

One of them is Melbourne Dreamz, which is organising a special Diwali night on this auspicious occasion.

Melbourne Dreamz is founded by four friends — Utsav Kapadia and wife Bidhya, and Karan Vilani and wife Dipti — who started organising small family events three years ago. The Diwali fest is their first public event.

“The events we organised for friends and family just grew bigger and bigger and finally our friends suggested we start organising large-scale events as well. D3 for Diwali will be our first public event,” says Utsav.

“D3 is a one of a kind of event where we intend to celebrate Diwali, which we think is an auspicious and colourful festival. This Diwali celebration on November 16 will be our first public event and to make the experience memorable, guests will be welcomed with elegance and will experience the richness of Indian tradition, culture and its festivity,” he adds.

At D-3, say the organisers, guests will be treated to a sumptuous four-course meal. “We will also have a DJ and a dance performance by a Bollywood dancer. There will be games, glitter art and henna for the ladies and prizes given away that night as well as awards for the best dressed,” says Utsav.

“We have arranged for baby-sitters for children below five, so the parents will get a chance to be free and enjoy the evening. We are expecting over 350 people on this occasion and the response so far is really exciting,”adds Utsav.
