Western Union’s Mark Strathern to speak at Who’s Who Sydney launch

Mark Strathern, the Director of e-Commerce at Western Union for Asia Pacific, will launch the Sydney edition of the Who’s Who on 25 March at the Madison Function Centre as well as deliver the keynote address.

At Western Union, Mark is responsible for the growth and development of e-commerce platforms and is focused on developing the company’s digital platforms to provide customers with innovative money transfer solutions.

Mark joined Western Union as the Director of Market Development for Asia Pacific in 2004 and in 2009 was appointed Regional Director of New Zealand and the Pacific. Later in 2009, he became Director of the regional Digital Ventures division, where he was responsible for the organisation’s electronic channel development and operations throughout Philippines, Thailand, Indochina and Oceania. He has held his current position since 2012.

Prior to joining Western Union, Mark held multiple leadership roles at AMP Banking and other Financial Institutions supporting business operations across Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Mark has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and has a strong background in e-commerce, mobile, digital payments and international business. He holds a certificate of Business Administration from the University of New England and has degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland.

This inaugural edition of the annual Who’s Who of Sydney’s Indian Community will showcase entrepreneurs, business leaders, professionals and executives from the Indian diaspora.
