FOSAI planning an India Day event with IAEF and Richmond Tigers as partners
The Richmond Football Club in association with the Australia India Business Council (AIBC Victoria) organised a joint networking event at the headquarters of Richmond Tigers. The function was a big hit with around 100 people joining in.
Mrs Dheepa Awtani—Women Chapter Head of India Australia Exchange Forum (IAEF) was the MC for the evening, and did a wonderful job of engaging the panel and the audiences. There were informative talks by Simon Derrick from Richmond Tigers, Rashi Kapoor the current President of AIBC Victoria, Mike Moingard the former President of AIBC Victoria, and few others.
The event was supported by IAEF, BYSQ Media, AIFI, Austrade, The Korin Gamadji Institute, Maurice Rioli Club, and Elite Akademy Sports Medicine.
Indian actress and producer Mrs Khushbu Sundar is an “Honorary Member” and “number one ticket holder” for the Richmond Tigers FC. Udaipur Prince and Billionaire HRH Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, and World Record Holding Sprinter Usain Bolt are the other two honorary members of Richmond Tigers
Prominent people like Former Ministerial Adviser Mr Nitin Gupta; Line Producer Mrs Nithya Remesan (Natya Entertainment); AFL Indian Adviser Mr Darpan Mittal; Mrs Ginny Kohli Gulati (Aroma Magic); Former AIBC President Mr Stephen Mannalack; Mr Ajit Chauhan (AFL Focus Group); AFL Ambassadors Mrs Anchal Agarwal, Ms Tanvi Mor, and Mr Aravind Putta; Mr Safwat Ali (SOLD Real Estate); Mr Ashwin Bora (IAEF); Mr Bhawesh Tank (LECA) and various others attended the networking event.
Richmond Tigers is planning to go to India to play a proper AFL match in either 2018 or 2019. They have been very actively engaging with the Victorian Indian community since past few years, and have hosted various visiting Indian dignitaries at their headquarters based at Punt Road Oval.
Indian actress and producer Mrs Khushbu Sundar is an “Honorary Member” and “number one ticket holder” for the Richmond Tigers FC. Udaipur Prince and Billionaire HRH Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, and World Record Holding Sprinter Usain Bolt are the other two honorary members of Richmond Tigers.
Both Khushbu and Prince Lakshyaraj were given the traditional welcome at the Tiger’s home ground by being presented with the “Indigenous Wrap” made of possum skin, which is considered the way of giving the highest honour in few Native Australian communities.
Other Indian celebrities like Billionaire Hon. Naveen Jindal; Congress Spokesperson Mrs Priyanka Chaturvedi; Music Master Mr Devi Sri Prasad (DSP); Dance Master Mr John Britto; Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli; Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni; and various others have also paid a visit to the home ground of Richmond Tigers while they were visiting Melbourne.
The Festivals of South Asia Inc (FOSAI) in partnership with IAEF, IEC, and Richmond Tigers are planning to hold an “India Day” event on Sunday 13 August 2017 with AFL India Ambassador Mrs Khushbu Sundar as keynote speaker.
