MindTribes named finalist for Telstra Business Awards
Div Pillay, Managing Director—MindTribes

Cross-cultural training service provider MindTribes, founded by Div Pillay, shortlisted in the micro business category

Melbourne-based company MindTribes has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2016 Telstra Victorian Business Awards.

The cross cultural performance company is the only business service provider in the micro business category, which also features a diverse range of businesses, including an exclusive fabric supplier and the producer of eco-luxe household and personal care products.

“We consider ourselves privileged to be judged amongst such established businesses.  Our offering is just two years old compared to other finalists in our category who are nine years old,” says MindTribes Co-Founder and Managing Director Div Pillay.

“We are also proud to represent our diversity, being the only Indian diaspora entrepreneurs in this category.  Having the backing of the Awards is an inspiration for others like us and creates instant credibility to our target market,” she adds.

MindTribes, says Div, is a company that helps improves the way people from different cultures connect and perform. “We value ‘profit with a purpose’, supporting Plan International’s, ‘Because I am a Girl Campaign’ by donating 10% of our deals,” she explains.

Div notes that many corporates enterprises lean on offshore hubs for growth and cost efficiencies but poor relationships between the two can restrict productivity, resulting in unrealised sales, poor service, low utilisation rates and operational inefficiencies. That’s where Mindtribes steps in with tailored cultural training and coaching services that are job-focused and aligned with the company’s performance outcomes. “Clients are diverse, ranging from multinationals, like American Express to niche global service providers like, Global Learning Support,” says Div.

Now in its 24th year, the Awards showcase the achievements of Australia’s best performing small and medium businesses across the new business, micro business, small business, medium business and, for the first time, charity categories.

Award winners will be announced on Tuesday, 19 July, at the National Gallery of Victoria.
