While some are born stars due to their lineage and/or family background, some others are
discovered. There are many fine examples of stars who were discovered through talent shows and
have gone on to conquer the stage and the hearts of millions. Programs like Australia’s Got Talent
and similar programs in the US and the UK have launched the singing and dancing careers of many
young artists. India has many such platforms too. One such ‘desi’ platform is being created by Anuj
Kulusheshtra and the Hindi Gaurav for the talented ones in the Indian diaspora here in Australia.
Anuj is no novice to such events as in the past Hindi Gaurav has organised a number of events to
showcase and promote Indian art and culture. He organised the Indian Australian Idol in 2011 and
2012 and has also organised a number of events like Kavi Sammelan, Ghazal nights and the Falguni
Pathak Dandia night. In addition to that this year he was responsible in bringing Holi to Parramatta,
had the Sydney skies flooded with kites during the Kite Flying festival and also organised the
Janmashtami Mela and the Karwachauth pooja in Parramatta.
The Indian Australian Singing and Dancing Star competition is another endeavour by Anuj and Hindi
Gaurav to promote the local Indian talent and also give others a taste of things Indian. It will be great
platform for those who think they have it them to woo an audience with their talent. It is often said
that you are only as good as your competition and what better way to gauge how good you are than
by competing with the other talented individuals and proving your worth. The final Talent show will
be judged by the who’s who of Sydney’s Indian artistic arena.

and join the audition in Sydney which is on 17th of May 2015 at 5pm at The Grand Marion Harris
Park. You never know what is waiting round the corner – as an old saying goes “Nothing Ventured,
Nothing Gained”!!

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
