Snowfall at night

This week Blizzard of Oz 3.0 brought with it over 70cm of fresh snow fall. 2017 is now exceeding records with Falls Creek reaching the deepest natural snow depth since 2004. It’s still looking like a winter wonderland up here with over 2 meters of natural snow covering the hill.

Thanks to all this incredible white powder we are thrilled to announce that season 2017 will be extended for one more week, with our season to close on Sunday, 8 October.

“It’s just been exceptional this season,” says Falls Creek General Manager Sharon Raguse “Looking around today on 2 September you’d think it was July school holidays with all the guests in the village and out on the hill, the place is absolutely buzzing!”

As the first Victorian resort extending season 2017 it’s going to be a September to remember here at Falls Creek. The whole resort is excited with the news, and with a packed events calendar there’s something for everyone up here.

If you missed out on your snow holiday across July and August, it’s still not too late to book. We’ve got activities galore, exceptional snow depths, very fresh surface conditions, and plenty of powder pockets hidden across the hill for you to explore.

This is spring skiing at its best.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
