Who's Who of Melbourne's Indian Community 2017
Aakash & Tanisha Sharma

Tanisha Sharma—Entrepreneur

Right from the start, it was the family business for Tanisha Sharma. ”When I graduated I went to work in the family business—Sharma’s Kitchen. I worked in our manufacturing plant to get a proper understanding of the functionality of the business from the procedures used in packing and sealing products to the mechanics of the machinery equipment used to produce our products. Then I moved to the office where I now manage all ordering, invoicing and general operations,” says Sharma, who was born in Australia.

“The most important moment in business for me was the transition to a managerial position upon which I learnt key skills related to the management of employees and business relationships,” she adds.

A different side

I believe: People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.

What I love about Australia: The weather

What I love about India: The family bonding

Favourite hang out in Melbourne: The city in itself

A must-read: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

My advice to entrepreneurs: Always have a positive attitude. No matter how difficult or confusing a situation if you are able to see it in a positive light you can make any bad experience or outcome a learning and growing outcome.
