If you’ve travelled, worked or been unsure if you were ready for university this year, the good news is you can still catch up to your friends.

Studying an accelerated diploma, which takes just two semesters, at UTS:INSEARCH can fast-track  you into the second year of your degree at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

If you enrol in an accelerated diploma by 27 May you could start UTS in second year, along with your friends, in February 2015.

The eight-month intensive diploma course at UTS:INSEARCH is designed to meet students’ needs and the curriculum is equivalent to first year study at UTS so you have a smooth transition into university.

“At UTS:INSEARCH there is one-to-one interaction between tutor and student, which is very important. The teachers help make hard things easy, and help students to understand and succeed,” says Chirag Rao,who is studying an Accelerated Diploma of Business at UTS:INSEARCH. He adds that the learning support he’s received has helped him understand the basics of how to study at university.

UTS:INSEARCH provides a high level of academic support for students so they can gain the confidence they need to succeed at university. The diploma courses are also fully integrated with first year study at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) so in many cases students can transfer straight into the second year of their chosen UTS degree. Students have the benefit of studying in small classes with no more than 20 students and receive a high level of academic support.

“When I finish my bachelor’s degree at UTS I will target big companies to get a position as a junior accountant, because to reach high you have to start from the beginning,” says Chirag.

“Accelerated diplomas are intensive so students need to be prepared to work hard but these courses are perfect for students who wanted a break or gap before studying at a university level,” says Sally Payne, UTS:INSEARCH Associate Dean of Studies.

“Now is a terrific time to get your education back on track with a diploma program and prepare yourself for university,’ she adds.

UTS:INSEARCH is hosting an information sessions for students on 15 May at their city campus.
