As the number of apartment developments in Melbourne continues to grow, many buyers are choosing to purchase apartments within master-planned communities over standalone projects for their quiet location and strong sense of community.
Part of this demand comes from a shift to medium-density living, due to affordability and lifestyle preferences of buyers, that is quickly spreading to Melbourne’s outer suburbs.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 2016 Census, over the past 25 years the number of occupied apartments in Australia increased by 78 per cent (including flats and units, excluding townhouses).
One development catering to this demand is Gardenia Apartments, the latest apartment offering at Cedar Woods’ master-planned community Jackson Green in Melbourne’s Clayton South, which is around 40 per cent sold.
Centred around a landscaped park, Jackson Green is a boutique community of contemporary homes and apartments, offering the ideal solution for those wanting to reside in an apartment and be part of a strong community.
Cedar Woods state manager Patrick Archer says that Gardenia Apartments has proven popular among purchasers looking for a high-quality apartment in a quiet suburban setting.
“Jackson Green gives people the opportunity for modern, low maintenance living as well as being part of a neighbourhood. The diverse range of housing options caters to a wide range of buyers and will foster the growth of a real community,” says Mr Archer.
“Living in a master-planned community also comes with benefits such as cheaper body corporate fees, a quieter neighbourhood, more car parking and larger landscaped recreation spaces,” he adds.
Chee Teng, a 30-year-old nurse’s assistant at Monash Medical Centre, recently purchased a two-bedroom apartment at Gardenia, and was strongly influenced by the location within Jackson Green.
“The location of Gardenia within Jackson Green was ideal for me, I liked that it was on a side street where it is much quieter and there is minimal traffic,” says Mr Teng, adding, “I was looking at other apartments in the area but they were far too busy, especially the ones located directly on a main road.”
Spaciously designed with generous outdoor areas, Gardenia apartments range from 54 square metres to 78 square metres, with some including outdoors areas of up to 103 square metres.
Gardenia apartments offer buyers the choice of one or two-bedrooms with either one or two bathrooms for the two-bedroom options. All apartments come with a secure carpark.
