Santosh Yadav is one of the three finalists in the micro business category for IEC Awards. The winner will be announced on 19th November at a Gala dinner in Sofitel

The Ayurveda Yoga Wellness Clinic (AYWC), based in Melbourne, offers a comprehensive range of ayurvedic health care services including medicines, treatment, massages, and yoga and meditation sessions.

“Ayurveda is an ancient system of natural medicine with its roots in India. This system takes a holistic approach to treating diseases and health conditions, and considers the patient’s physical and mental state in recommending a treatment regime. The ancient practice is gaining more and more relevance in modern times because of the rise in lifestyle diseases,” says AYWC founder Santosh Yadav, who has opened two clinics in Melbourne.

Established in 2007 to promote the practice of ayurveda in Australia, AYWC offers services that treats chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, obesity, neurological disorders, infertility, depression and skin diseases; and promotes preventative healthcare and health maintenance regimes.

Dr Yadav has been working in this field for over 10 years and has grown his client base in Australia from 10 clients in 2007 to over 5,000 in 2016. He is a registered practitioner with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) and holds professional membership as an Ayurvedic doctor and naturopath with the Australasian Association of Ayurveda Inc. He is also registered as an accredited therapist with the Australian Association of Massage Therapists and registered as a yoga teacher with Yoga Australia Inc.

“The unique feature of my ayurvedic approach is that I correlate my diagnosis with the conventional method, and then prescribe ayurvedic medicine and treatments accordingly,” he says.

He has a keen interest in sharing knowledge of the ancient healing traditions of India through radio, workshops, talks and seminars. In 2012, Dr Yadav received the ‘Hind Rattan Award’ for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions by Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Community Service Award’ for his services to the community.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
