Arun Nanda and Rushi Dave (Entrepreneurs)

Friends and art lovers, Arun Nanda and Rushi Dave started ‘Heart and Soul Productions’ with the sole purpose of promoting local talent by creating a platform to showcase their artistic flair. They also wanted to whet the appetite of the Sydney audience by bringing to Australia world famous artists in various fields of performing arts, like music, dance, theatre, poetry, stand-up comedy to mention but a few.

‘Taal Se Taal Mila’, their signature music show, has over the past two years encouraged and celebrated local artists, while their recent ‘Guftagu with Gulzar Saab’ brought the famous lyricist and poet to Australian and New Zealand shores for the very first time. To coincide with this tour the team launched the music talent hunt ‘MUSICFARE Awards’. “We are working on our next project and try to put in every effort to produce events with a difference, focusing passionately on high levels of creativity and quality of production with innovative themes and concepts,” says Arun.

Both Arun and Rushi came to Sydney over 18 years ago. While Arun started his career as an advertising account executive, Rushi was a gaming dealer at Star. A love for art and theatre is what brought the two together, and with ideologies and skill sets that complemented each other, they decided to embark on this successful journey.

Arun’s advice to young budding entrepreneurs is, “Have faith in yourself, keep yourself open to ideas, and always give 100%”, and Rushi’s is, “Australia is land of opportunities. Be honest to yourself and do what your heart says…. aim for healthy competition.” Arun is driven by Osho’s words, “Experience life in all possible ways”, and  Rushi is motivated by the words, “Let the bird fly. If it comes to you think it’s yours and if doesn’t return, it was never yours”.

The way I see it

Australia is… “A land of opportunities with great systems in place and very good quality of life” — Arun

“A land of diverse culture and dignity of labour” — Rushi

Read it, loved it. Arun recommends 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.

Rushi likes Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography by Walter Isaacson

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
