Footballer tells multicultural ambassadors the answer and more at meet, greet and experience FIFA day

‘There are a number of things that football teaches you.’ When the man behind these life lessons is Real Madrid legend Ronaldo Nazario you know everyone in the room is all ears. And that was the case when Ronaldo recently met with multicultural ambassadors representing 14 nations from Iran, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Malaysia, India, China, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Korea, Lebanon, Jordan, Scotland and Wales. The ambassadors were given the surprise of a lifetime when they were invited to meet the legend as part of the launch of the Real Madrid, World of Football.

When asked what advice he has for young players, Ronaldo said: “You have to be good at school. Not everyone can be a professional player. Life continues. Try your best. Have discipline, respect. Know about playing in a team, it’s about teamwork.”

Ronaldo is a 3 x FIFA player of the year, 1998 Golden Ball winner and 2002 Golden Boot winner and faced one of his toughest challenges when faced with hard-hitting questions from the junior players, ranging from his first goal to his favourite video game.

Ronaldo, also a FIFA 18 video game fan, plays regularly against his son who is almost 18 years old. “We play against each other. But he always beats me,” says Ronaldo.

As Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations for the club said, “Everyone is welcome at Real Madrid, regardless of nationality, language, culture or religion. It has always been that way.

We all share the same goal, the love of the game and love of Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid is a truly international club, with over 100 million followers through Facebook alone.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
