Footy fever takes over Werribee City Centre

Footy fanatics and superheroes will take over the Werribee City Centre these school holidays, with heaps of activities to keep kids entertained. Just in time for the AFL finals season, a free footy-themed school holiday program will have kids cheering.

Wyndham City’s Tourism and Major Events portfolio holder, Cr John Gibbons, said the event would help kids get into the footy spirit.

“The Footy Fever event in Station Place will be a fun event where kids can work on their skills with handball clinics and drills and enjoy crafts and face painting,” Cr Gibbons said.

“Of course it wouldn’t be a footy event if you didn’t show off your pride in your team, so make sure you wear your team’s colours,” he said.

Cr Gibbons said the Superhero Hunt would be another exciting event for kids in Wyndham these school holidays.

“The mission for young superheroes in this free event will be to join us for a hunt through the Werribee City Centre, using their special powers to look for clues,” he added.

There will be craft workshops, face-painting and prizes for the best dressed kids. “From Aquaman to Wonder Woman, this event is sure to be a hit with all the kids,” Cr Gibbons said.

Footy Fever in Station Place will be held on Monday, 25 and Tuesday, 26 September, from 11am to 2pm.

The Superhero Hunt will be held at the Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton St Werribee, from 11am to 2pm on Monday, 2 and Tuesday, 3 October. The event is limited to 300 children per session and bookings are essential.
