Organisers of the 2017 Cabramatta Moon Festival have found the essential ingredients for foodies to learn new cooking skills on Sunday, 24 September.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said celebrity chefs would bring their cooking skills to the festival, adding to the outstanding entertainment line-up this year, such as headline act Dami Im.

“Our celebrity chefs will excite your taste buds with some great recipes,” Mayor Carbone said. “We’ve got a fantastic line-up of renowned chefs and anyone who loves food will find their cooking demonstrations not only inspirational, but also mouth-watering.”

The chefs ready to tickle taste buds are: David & Betty, who were semi-finalists of 2017’s My Kitchen Rules, whose cooking style is all about sticking to their roots and cooking the authentic South-East Asian flavours their mothers taught them; leading Korean cooking instructor Heather Jeong, who bridges cultural barriers through her Korean and Western cooking and whose innovative recipes have appeared in Australia’s leading magazines and newspapers; food carving teacher and talented chef Thom Bui backed by 40 years experience teaching Vietnamese cooking, and known for her cake decorating and 3D jelly cakes; and Malaysian-born and Sydney University educated chef Jackie M whose cooking style is about recreating the complex flavours that defined the cuisine of her childhood.

The Cabramatta Moon Festival is the event for food lovers hungry to try the city’s famous authentic cultural cuisines. The festival is recognised as one of Sydney’s largest and brightest Asian cultural celebrations and attracts more than 90,000 people each year.

Entry is free. The festival door is right at Cabramatta Station, so board a train on the T3 Bankstown, T5 Cumberland or T2 Inner west and south lines from Central Station and avoid traffic and parking hassles. For Fairfield City residents, there will be free shuttle bus services running to Cabramatta throughout the day.
