It’s all downhill from here

And boy, are you going to love it…so get your ski gear out, the hills are waiting

The snow season is off to a great start with early falls kicking it off. The teams at Hotham and Falls have been keeping me in the “loop”, and this year is expected to be another bumper season. For those who have never been to the snow it’s an absolutely fabulous experience, as long as you follow some important rules. Over the next few months, I am going to help you with the process, as I did last year. Just remember it is better to be dressed properly than for fashion. However, the snow gear around these days is both warm, comfortable and fashionable.

High heels are out and snow boots are in. With anything, planning a trip to the snow takes a little fore-thought and attention to detail. But, it’s well worth the effort. Last year, I took a group of first time skiers up and under my very patient guidance, they are now converted. It does take a couple days to get your “ski legs”, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Take a couple of days up there and it is worth spending a few dollars on taking a lesson or two.

I took a trip out to Yarra Valley—where along with some friends sampled some of the finest wines available. Unfortunately, being the designated driver I had to be responsible though. The Yarra Valley is a slice of paradise with over 50 wineries, small and large dotted throughout the valley.

It’s just over an hour’s drive east of Melbourne and is absolutely impossible to get around in one day. Do as I did, and select the winery you wish to visit—in my case Domaine Chardon and spoil yourself.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
